Influencer Outreach Templates + How to Use Them

Influencer Outreach Templates + How to Use Them

Influencer outreach is a simple game that is often overthinked, and I stand by this strongly because I’ve done it for hundreds of clients and can tell you that it’s much easier than you think.

Even if you’re a beginner.

To prove my point, here’s one of my recent influencer campaigns I did for an ecommerce client that was looking for influencers to promote their products.

Let’s show you how I did it.

Find the right influencer

Influencer outreach is sales.

You’re trying to convince the person that your offer will help them, in return for mutual benefit. Whether that be promoting your product, attending your event, being a guest on your podcast, and so on.

Needless to say, you need to find someone that will benefit from whatever you’re offering.

A male fitness influencer has no business promoting your glamorous eyeliner, does he?

So, before you send a single email out your job is to identify exactly who you are looking for.

  • Age range
  • Location
  • Language
  • Interest/Niche
  • Type of content they create (for example reviewer, or vlogger, or educational creator)
  • Who their audience is

Once you know this, then you’ll know whether they’re someone interested in your offer to begin with.

Create a good offer

While lowballing people on the Facebook marketplace is funny and entertaining, influencers and creators earn money for food through their content.

You won’t get anyone to agree with you if you’re completely lowballing them and simply trying to take advantage of them. They’re not idiots.

  1. Plan a budget.
  2. Adapt your strategy accordingly

While you can try and offer influencers with huge followings a gift product in exchange for a product, it simply won’t work.

But if you do the same to super micro influencers, say 5000 followers or less, you’ll definitely stumble upon a handful that will be more than happy to do it.

Of course, this example is comparing two extremes, so my point is that you’ll figure out what the right offer is as you run your campaigns. Talk to the people you reach out to, ask them whether they’re open for negotiation that fits your budget, and put effort into making the offer good for them, genuinely. Then you’ll find that most of them will step out and come to a reasonable deal.

Write a good email

This is the part that most of you overthink, and while it is very important, if you get the last two points right even a mediocre email will yield good results.

In any case writing a good influencer outreach email will ensure they open and read your email, set the stage for a good conversation and ultimately a deal you’re both happy with.

So, here’s my formula for influencer outreach emails.

Straight to the point.

  • Introduced myself, and my company
  • Showed that I found them, and decided to reach out (instead of spam sending an email)
  • Presented the product in a way that compliments them and showcases the relevance
  • Politely asked for their rates which sets a good mood, if they don’t fit my budget I will let them know – simple communication
  • Ended the email with a call to action – let me know your rates and I’ll get back! Making it super easy for them to give a reply and establish rapport

Conclusion

In conclusion, influencer outreach is a fundamental aspect of modern marketing, and it doesn’t have to be an overly complex process. By carefully identifying the right influencers, creating meaningful offers, and crafting genuine outreach emails, businesses can effectively connect with influencers to promote their products or services. Remember, it’s about building mutually beneficial relationships and communicating openly with influencers to establish rapport and secure successful collaborations. With the right approach, even beginners can navigate the world of influencer outreach and achieve positive results for their brands.
